I have been in an auto wreck, what should I do? Do I need a lawyer?

First, if you are in pain see a doctor immediately.  The longer you wait the less likely the insurance company will take you seriously.  If you are hurt you should contact an attorney for a consultation, at the very least.  The consultation with our firm is no charge.  Second, have you photographed the damage to the vehicles involved? Do so.  Third, you need to get a copy of the police report.  If you are not going to hire an attorney, then you need to contact the insurance company that insures the at fault driver (that information will be on the police report) and also contact your insurance company that insures your car.  You need to put them on notice.  However, you do not want to give a recorded statement to the adjusters for these insurance companies who will almost assuredly request that you do so.  Despite what they tell you a recorded statement is not necessary.  Also, you do not want to sign anything they send you without first consulting with an attorney. You may be signing away your rights to a future claim.  Our consultations are free.  Give us a call and see if we can help.
